Official Rules and Regulations of the 1st Annual Duck Race for Education

Presented by Take A Child Outdoors, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

1. A maximum of 5,000 ducks will be entered in the race.

2. Ducks will be launched into the the creek on Saturday, October 20, 2007 time is to be determinded by the tide and will be posted here a few days prior to the race. Weather conditions or other interference may affect race time. The racecourse will be established by the Presenter and will end at Bowlees Creek. The Presenter reserves the right to manually maneuver ducks while on the racecourse. If extreme circumstances prevent the race from occurring on October 20, 2007, every effort will be made to reschedule the race within two weeks of the original race date. If the race does not occur within two weeks, winners will be determined by a random drawing conducted by the Presenter.

3. All ducks entered will be provided by the Presenter and shall remain the property of the Presenter.

4. Once ducks are launched, they are on their own. No attempt to free or interfere with any duck is permitted unless deemed necessary by the Presenter. The racecourse will close 20 minutes after the first duck has entered the duck trap. Any ducks finishing after that time will be ineligible for prizes.

5. A number will be written on the bottom of each racing duck. The person listed on the adoption paper (ticket stub) corresponding to the winning duck will be awarded prizes. Positive identification is required (valid drivers license) and the claimant must be 18 years of age.

6. Presenter reserves the right, at is sole option, to substitute prizes of comparable value.

7. The Presenter reserves the right to limit the number of adoptions per individual or business.

8. Winners will be announced. Winners will also, where necessary, be notified by telephone or email. Entrants need not be present to win. If a winner does not claim his/her prize within 30 days after October 20, 2007, Presenter will select a winner by random drawing of entry tickets. All prizes will be awarded.

9. Presenter staff members, volunteers, and associated race sponsors and the immediate families of any such person are not eligible to win. Also, neither the person appointed by the Presenter authorized to pull the winning ducks from the water in order of finishing nor any relative of said person either close or distant shall be eligible to win. Winner must prove eligibility.

10. No cash equivalent will be awarded in lieu of designated prizes.

11. By entering, entrants release presenter and its officers, directors and staff, and other related entities from any and all liability with respect to prizes.

12. By entering, winners consent to the promotion of their names and likenesses without additional compensation.
